HQ Professional is a company dedicated to bringing a range of quality hair products to salon professionals and the general public. For this project, I was asked to design the product packaging and advertising assets for their new premium product - HQ Maxi Plex Charcoal Bleach Powder. The logo design of ‘Maxi-Plex’ was given, and the typeface ‘Raleway’ was to be used for consistency with other products in the brand. Initially, the desired colour palette was to be bright and colourful, however, the brief later changed to focus on a muted auburn red to stand out against the charcoal colour of the product and offer the option of a screen-printed finish. The client was adamant on a packaging design that appeared fresh and modern, that would stand out from competitors. The result - a minimalist design using only typeface weights and straight lines to tell the consumer the story of HQ Maxi Plex Charcoal Bleach Powder.
