BILLY’S BREW: ENDLESS SUMMER

During my time at Billy Blue College of Design, students were given a hypothetical brief to develop for a client: Billy’s Brew. The brief stated that Billy’s Brew had given creative freedom to design a label for their new IPA craft beer. It was to be developed into a highly finished, complete label design. They wanted a unique design that also would resonate with the local coastal lifestyle where their brewery was located. The label was to fit on a single-serve bottle up to 330ml in size. As the client wanted their product to stand out, they had also requested that a die cut and one embellishment be incorporated into the label’s design. The design was to include all mandatory product information detailed within the brief and artwork for all labels were required to be accurately set up for print. The client had decided to manage the printing of the labels themselves. They required completion of a print specification sheet for them to provide to their chosen packaging supplier. A mock-up of the final label design is was also required.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT:

AFTER RESEARCH INTO TARGET MARKET, LOCATION AND IPA PRODUCT DESIGN, AN INSPIRATIONAL MOODBOARD WAS DEVISED, AND THUMBNAILS WERE SKETCHED

the DIGITAL CONCEPT WAS DEVELOPED WITH CONSIDERATION TO a DIECUT AND PROPOSED EMBELLISHMENTS

refinements were considered and met for the front label and the back label was developed
